The Distributed Inverted Pendulum demo displays how NI products can be used to perform advanced distributed control. This application controls two inverted pendulums with a state-space algorithm over a distance of up to 100 meters. The NI 9144 expansion chassis communicates over Ethernet with other slaves and the NI 3110 Industrial Controller that’s installed with the NI Real-Time Hypervisor software. The NI Real-Time Hypervisor provides the NI 3110 with the ability to run both LabVIEW Real-Time and Windows XP at the same time.
