Abstract: Pulsed radar is an important technology used in both commercial and military aircraft. Recent events have shown the importance of working transponders in maintaining location information. At this session, learn how you can configure software-defined instrumentation using LabVIEW and commercial off-the-shelf PXI RF instrumentation to simulate and test different types of pulsed radar. Also, through a case study on TACAN beacon emulation by NI Alliance Partner CertTech, examine the fundamentals of pulse generation and analysis as well as advanced techniques such as the simulation of secondary radars that require real-time interrogation handling and response generation.
