Abstract: Cellular communications technology today is typically used for connecting devices and people and for transmitting a variety of content. In contrast, we use separate infrastructure for wireless controls, from remote controls of entertainment sets to cranes and vehicles on construction sites. A cellular infrastructure, correctly specified and implemented, could not only connect but also network all distributed embedded systems. This would enable us to ubiquitously connect cyber-physical systems. At this session, explore the requirements for the next-generation cellular standard, referred to as 5G. Also get an overview of the new applications of the Tactile Internet.
