Abstract: You must overcome many system-level challenges when deploying CompactRIO into both ordinary and hazardous locations. Enclosure design is critical to meeting IP ratings, ensuring appropriate EMC and thermal performance, and installing CompactRIO into hazardous locations such as Division 1/Zone 0. In this session, hear best practices and lessons learned from NI mechanical engineers that can greatly simplify manufacturing design, reduce costs, and improve testability. Furthermore, examine the selection of intrinsically safe barriers/isolators that allow CompactRIO to interface to sensors used in the harshest environments.
