Abstract: The Brazilian Synchrotron Light Laboratory, operates a 2nd generation synchrotron storage ring with 18 beamlines, dedicated to several structural and spectroscopic characterisation techniques, used by large community of scientist on the development of new synthetic and biological materials. More recently these beamlines went through a complete remodelling of control and data acquisition using EPICS along with COTS technologies and graphical programming. In this talk I will describe the main aspects of this approach in the current beamlines and the future plans for the beamline control and data acquisition on Sirius, the new Brazilian synchrotron light source under construction.
