1062Q sonfiguration

 Hello

i have bougth a 1062Q chasis form ni . with 5661 and a Multiplexer(probably 2592) module and Raid streaming card 8262 who do i insert these card in chasis. As it is written in book of 5661 that 5600 and 5142 must be togeter but slots for prepheral slots are 4 three on extreem right and one with the controller. Also it states insert 5661 in slot 2. which is only one prepheral slot... Ur NI advisor is not working that's why i have to post this question here

Hello madd,

The best way to use the device in the NI PXIe-1062Q would be to insert your PXI-5600 in slot 6, a hybrid PXI-5142 in slot 5 and your multiplexer and RAID control cards in slots 3 and 4. This would allow you to use all of these devices in this chassis at the same time.

Hi Madd,

The main advantage there is that you will have a x4 direct link on the backplane of the chassis for the 5142 and the RAID controller, which are the two cards that need the greatest bandwidth across the PCI bus. If you use the configuration you mentioned the 5142 is in slot 6, which means that it has to share a x1 bus link with the multiplexer. In general this may not have too much of an effect, but if you are reading higher frequency signals and digitizing at higher end rates, then you may run into some issues with the ability of the 5142 to stream that amount of data across that x1 link on the backplane. Dan's suggestions really is the best for the setup you have.
