Can't connect to cRIO from project. Works from MAX.

In MAX my CRIO NI-cRIO9024 is visible as connected and running but I cannot run my application on it from LabVIEW.  When I try to run a vi get the error 'Waiting for Real-time target (NI-cRIO9024) to respond'.  I have not been able to run any application on the CRIO since I tried to install slave chassis to it via an etherCat connection.  In trying to do this I added the component 'IndCom for EtherCAT Scan Engine Support 2.0' in the custom install via MAX.  I do not know if this is related.

Please help.

Same problem with the same cRIO. Must be something wrong with the cRIO connecting automatically.

After days talking to NI, I think I found a solution:

Make sure all the software is correct, I was running Labview 10 with NI RIO 3.4, which was a no-no.

When starting a new project, you will have to manually find the target by entering the IP address and choosing the 9024 cRIO.

Once you have the project window explorer up, right-click the cRIO and click "Connect."

Once it has connected, right-click the cRIO, and under "New" go to "Targets and Devices". Here, you can add your chassis.

If it did not find your modules, right click on the chassis and click "New" and "C-series Modules".

Hope this helps!

Abe
