I'm looking to use an NI 9403 module with an incremental encoder. This encoder has one of four 'flavors': open-collector, differential line driver, 'pull-up', and/or 'push/pull'.
These outputs are defined with more detail here: http://www.encoder.com/techbulletins/TB-109.pdf
I need to know which to purchase. The 9403 documentation didn't address these types of outputs directly. I presume that a few are supported but may require some additional wiring considerings but I'm unclear as to those details. Help?

Hello,
Are you using a cDAQ or cRIO chassis? If you are using a cDAQ, the 9403 will not work for this application. The 9401 would be a good option for you in this case. If you are using cRIO then you should be fine.
As far as the supported output signals, you should be safe with either the pull-up or push/pull types. Both of these are going to require an external voltage source to operate, which will not be provided by the DIO card.
