I have a cRIO-9045 and all I have been tasked to do by my client is set the IP address and network settings, upgrade the firmware to the latest, only install whatever software is necessary to use Test Panel to configure IO cards and test (read/sim) their IO. I was not intending to install any software or do any programming.
I have successfully configured the network settings and upgraded the firmware but I don't see any button in NI MAX for Test Panel. The 9045 is currently sitting on my test bench, not wired up to the larger system it will eventually be a part of but more importantly does not have any of the anticipated IO cards installed. When installing NI MAX I made sure to install the Compact RIO Driver (which I thought would be enough but wasn't) and the DAQmx Run-Time with Configuration Support (which other sources said I would need) and nothing more. Other tutorials or manuals have lead me to believe I should just click on the cRIO-9045 under Devices and Interfaces under My System but there is not option for Test Panel. Even checked the device under Remote Systems. I am connected to the cRIO with usb and ethernet on the correct subnet.
What am I missing? I'm trying to do the barebones setup/install to minimize steps when I write up what I needed to do to accomplish this.
