Evaluation setup does not detect sb rio eval hardware

Hi.  I received my sb rio eval kit today but after exhausting all the online help I can find, I am still unable to detect and configure the eval hardware.

I've tried connecting directly to the computer and through a router.  The yellow status light next to the green light blinks twice every few seconds.  I found a document on NI.com that indicated there was an error possibly during a software upgrade. However, since I can't connect to it, I don't know how to correct the issue.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Michael

Have you installed the NI-RIO Driver? I believe that it is installed as part of the Wizard for the Eval Kit but check in NI-MAX under My System->Software. Make sure that NI-RIO is installed. If it is not then install it and see if the sbRIO appears under Remote Systems. Even though the device has a problem right now it still should appear and then you can reinstall the software onto it and that should fix any problem it has.

Hello Alex.

Thank you for replying to my post.  I checked and everything was installed correctly.

I'm running Windows 7 via Parallels on my macbook.  I discovered the source of my issues was the ethernet port setup in Parallels.  I had selected the wrong network port.  Once I chose the correct port, connection to the sbRIO was a snap and I was able to install software and begin using everything.

Thanks again.

Michael
