How can I change the RTD wire mode or RTD on a 9216 when using in FPGA mode

Solved!
Go to solution

I checked property nodes, invoke nodes, property of the card..no option to select the RTD mode or which RTD is being used when used on the FPGA on a cRIO.

Is this even possible?

Hi,

As detailed on the specifications of the 9216 it should automatically detect if you are using a 3 or 4 wire RTD and configure the channel appropriately based on that. You can find it on page 1 of the datasheet.

Oh, OK. But does it also select the RTD type automatically (we are using a supported RTD)?  I don't see this in the manual (for FPGA) but you can select this in scan-mode, I suspect while in FPGA mode, it defaults to a certain type of RTD, which is quite limiting (there are several RTDs that I know of that have a nominal resistance of 100 ohms).  See attached picture.

When I used the module on the FPGA, the reading returned the resistance of the RTD.

Thanks

I think I found a solution...an example VI in LabVIEW shows the FPGA returns the resistance and you have to do the conversion in RT.  This makes sense...I should have looked at the examples first!

Thanks!
