How can I install CompactRIO application upgrades without LV devel environment

I want to distribute new versions of our LabVIEW code for FPGA and CompactRIO. Is is possible to install such new versions without the LabVIEw development environment?

Hi

You can transfer the vi for the CRIO through ftp. Place the new version of your vi in the controller startup folder using ftp through MAX.

To download the FPGA code use the link below:

Let me know how you get on.

Hi Beejal

Thanks for the hint.

So, if I understand you correctly, I will be able to load an upgrade using FTP as long as the CompactRIO was originally set up with an older version of our software by using the LabVIEW development environment.

What if I needed to re-format the cRIO disk and reload LV real-time before I loaded the new version of our software?

Also, the link to instructions for loading FPGA code refers back to this bulletin board entry - could you please post the correct link. Thanks.

Regards

Hi

This should work even if you re-format the cRIO disk and reload LV real-time.

Here is the correct link, it should work this time:

It sounds like you might want to look at RT System Replication tools as well.  Thats probably more along the lines of what your looking for.

Hope that helps,
