How to achieve synchronisation between NI 9237 and NI 9201

Hi,

I am using a cRIO 9004 controller with two modules: NI 9201 and NI 9237. I have built a set of Host/FPGA VIs that sets the NI 9237 up to wait for any of the four channels to break a trigger value and then log another X, say 4000, readings. This is effectively a pre-trigger leaving me with a FIFO full of a certain number of readings before the trigger event and 4000 after the trigger event.  I have attached this (the Host VI is only a part of a bigger VI which also offers other measruement modes which are not relevant here).

The person using this now wants to carry out a drop test with a car which requires measuring both strain in the suspension and acceleration of the car after a short free fall from a small height. The strain part is achieved with my VI described above, now I need to come up with a way to include acceleration measurements. I have already successfully measured acceleration contuously using NI 9201 but am unclear about how I can time the measurements to cover the same time span as the strain measurements. The problem I see is that the timing of readings of the NI 9237 seems to be carried out in the module itself while NI 9201 relies on my VI doing all the timing.

I would be grateful for any hints on how to go about this.

Thanks, Jonas
