How to choose RT hardware and software

I am new to labview to do real time measurement and control. Can anybody give me some advice on how to choose the software and hardware?

I need to design a real time control system for metal process forming application. The inputs are voltages of about 10 channels, the outputs are voltage of 15 channels. I also need capture the images from CCDs. The system should be able to take measure and control in the order of 1ms. Can anybody suggest me what to choose?

You might consider CompactRIO.  It is an industrial grade RT target with high speed I/O.  It also can execute PID at very fast rates when the PID executes in the FPGA backplane.
