Is it even possible to genlock two cameras and use them both at the highest frame rate?

I have 2 PCI-1428 boards in one computer. I need to know if it is even possible to get both cameras to acquire at full capacity at the same time,  on just the one computer. I've tried the "Grab with two cameras.vi" in the examples and that won't work. I don't want to modify any of the cards or cameras. Also, when I open two seperate MAX windows and "grab" with both cameras at the same time, the picture gets all tweeked out on both. It is looking like the only way to get both cameras to aqcuire at the same time at full capacity would be to have a second computer, is this my only option?

Hello Deater,

The first thing to check is if the PCI bus can handle the amount of data that you are acquiring.  The PCI bus can handle up to 127.2 MBytes/sec.  Make sure that acquiring from both cameras does not exceed this (based on the combined number of pixels per image, pixel bit depth, and frame rate).  If the amount of acquired data exceeds this limitation, then you either need a second PCI bus on your computer or a second computer.

If the amount of acquired data is within the PCI bus limitations, then does acquiring from each camera/1428 in MAX work properly?  What do you mean when you say the picture gets "tweeked out"?  Perhaps you could post a good picture and a tweeked out picture.
