Hi all,
I'm working with the RIO Evaluation KIT that uses sbRIO-9637 as chassis. I need to measure the temperature using a K-Type thermocouple. Because the expected voltage from the sensor is low (1mV to 4 mV), I should measure in differential mode with the lowest possible range.
From the user manual of the sbRIO-9637 I know that the differential voltage analog input is available (AI0 as positive terminal and AI8 as negative terminal for example) and the lowest input range is -1V to +1V with 32uV of resolution, good data. But the daughter board above the chassis only has single-ended analog input channels (AI0:AI5).
My question is: Can I measure the analog differential voltage from the k thermocouple with RIO EVAL KIT?
Thank You!

Hi jesLVbcn,
the sbRIO analog inputs are not designed to measure thermocouples, so an external conditioning circuit is needed to measure this kind of sensors.
