LCD 2004 20X4 (Hitachi HD44780) blue and I2C Serial Interface on FPGA

Dear All, is there an easy way to communicate with the LCD. I know it is quit easy with Labview Realtime and the generic FPGA IP, but I need it to implement the code inside another FPGA Code.
