LabView RT 8.2 ETS Target, boot sector/mbr trouble

The HD requirements are:
  • Parallel ATA (IDE)
  • FAT32 File system on the primary partition of hard drive of the desktop PC
As you can see from this KnowledgeBase entry, we have solid-state (flash) drives for our PXI controllers.  I will follow-up with some other engineers to see what opinions they have regarding booting RT off of an IDE flash drive.

Hi,

As just a follow-up.  I am not sure what kind of settings an IDE Flash-bsed hard drive has, but I know for the standard IDE drive I had to turn off the Ultra-DMA setting in order to get the Format Disk to install the RTOS and actually be able to boot from it.  So if there is a setting on the flash-based hard drive that you can turn off I would like to think that it would work.
