Linux Daqmx Installation problems.

I have successfully installed the Daqmx driver for Linux using the base Suse V10.0 installation (no modifications).  I tested it and it appeared to be working fine.  However after I recompiled the kernel to include the RTAI realtime patch the driver no longer worked.  I decided to go the other way around.  I applied the realtime patch and then tried to install Daqmx.  It failed saying my kernel sources and modules were not compatible or something like that.  One of the kernel configuration changes is to disable CONFIG_MODVERSIONS.  I am suspecting this is what is causing the installation to fail.  After wading through the installation script I found that it fails when trying to locate "kernel source path"/include/linux/modversions.h.  I could not located that file on my machine and suspect that it is created as part of the module versioning system in the kernel.  Can anyone verify this?

I'm not sure if it is even possible but I would like to use the Daqmx drivers from within RTAI.  If it's not possible I will just give up and use the Comedi drivers.  I would really like to use the newer M Series hardware though with the NI drivers.

Thanks,
Tony

Tony,

I am afraid that the DAQmx Drivers are do not support use with RTAI. If you need to use RTAI you will have to find some other method (probably the Comedi Drivers you mentioned). Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
