My PC cannot recognize CompactRIO 9102 after i have connected it to a PC

I am currently doing a research obn AUV (automated underwater vehicle). I was continuing a research that was left by other graduating students. However when i connected their already coonfigured ConpactRio 9102 in the normal mode, with no device connected to it, the  PC will not recognize it. So i read the manual, and i decided to reset the configuration. After i reset the config, i am now stuck on how to reconfigure it. I do not have any interface to configure the CompactRio since the PC will not recognize it. I connected both the PC and the ethernet cable from the controller to a hub. the status light on the controller (compactRio)  flashes once every 2 secs, and i believe that it is an indication for me to reconfigure the controller. Please I will need any useful guide to solve this issue.

Hello,

Could you specify which controller you have for the cRIO? Also the first thing that you may want to check is that the ethernet cable is a standard straight through cable and not a cross-over cable. The students before you may have not been programming remotely, they may have been connecting it directly to the PC (ie crossover cable used). As for the status light indications, the manual for the 9014 (this may or may not be your real-time target) indicates that this means there is an error in the software.

The controller has detected an error in its software. This usually occurs

when an attempt to upgrade the software is interrupted. Reinstall

software on the controller. Refer to the
Measurement & AutomationExplorer Help for information about installing software on the

controller.

This can be found here on page 12.  Once you are able to contact your cRIO the best thing to do would be to reinstall the software on the cRIO.

If you are using a straight through cable, check to see if you can see your device under remote systems in Measurement Automation Explorer. If you can't then try to use a cross over cable to connect to your pc.
