NI-9205 Module undetected

I have three chassis, non will detect my NI-9205 Modules

One chassis is a 9102 the other two are 9014's

Below is an example image of creating a new real-time project under Labview 2010 and another image of installed software.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello Trebouchet,

From the top image, I'm assuming that the 9205 is in slot 5 of your 9012.
Which modules are visible if you swap the 9205 in slot 5 with the 9401 in slot 6?

If the 9205 in slot 6 is recognized, while the 9401 in slot 5 is not, slot 5 in the 9012 has probably gone bad.

If the 9205 in slot 6 is not recognized, while the 9401 in slot 5 is, the 9205 may need to be sent in for repair.

If you encounter the second scenario, call in to our support line at 1-866-275-6964 and we'll be able to do a little more troubleshooting, and possible connect you with one of our RMA coordinators.

Best regards,

Powered dow both chassis.I then pulled all modules, inserted  the two 9205 modules, one in each chassis at slot 1. Powered both systems in. Went through the process of creating a new real0time project and neither chassis sees the 9205 modules.

Thanks

Hello Trebouchet,

There isn't anything unusual or unique about the 9205 in terms of what is needed for detection.  Do you have any reason to suspect that they have been used roughly or outside of spec?  It is strange that though each chassis can detect other modules, neither chassis can detect either of your 9205s - I suspect they may be damaged.

I am concerned they are indeed damged, as to why two modules from systems got damaged though is more concerning. One of my techs had tried connected them ti the USB-9162 Carriers which are not compatable. I would hope this wouldnt damage them. Or that I infact have a bad CRIO Chassis thats damged the modules.

The 9216 wouldn't have damaged the 9205s.  The pinout for the connector isn't exactly the same, but the important pins (5V and GND) are the same.
Since your cRIO chassis is able to recognize and make use of other modules, I don't think it is the issue.

Something as simple as a hidden inductive load could've damaged the 9205s you have.  I do think you should call in to our support line and get an RMA started.

The number for our support line is 1-866-275-6964.  We'll be able to get you connected with an RMA coordinator from there.
