Ok, I will check the connections when I've re-installed. Does it matter that the Labview, Real-Time and FPGA software has 14.0.0 releases and the driver 14.0.1 release? This is what you get when you download the zip folders on the web right now. Or should I use a 14.0.0 driver release?

It is a correct software match. LV + modules 14.0.0 and RIO 14.0.1 will work together. Important that the CompatRIO 14.0.1 Component in NI RIO is installed. Which it should by default.

Yes, maybe something did not go well with the installation since it did not show up in the software tree correctly. But I should not bother then about the 0.0 and 0.1 version difference. Thanks!

Hi again,
now I've had time to reinstall again and the same issue is still there with a blank network settings page. When I try to proceed with installing latest software on the CRIO by right clicking the cRIO Software in the MAX tree, the Warning sign again appears in front of the newest version, hence I can not chose it and continue according to the steps in the cRIO installation guide. See fig below.
To recapulate:
My Window 7 Prof, Elite book 840 HP computer is directly connected to the CRIO using the network cable that came with the package, it is not cross-wired. My computer recognizes the cRIO but no network settings are visible. I have downloaded the Labview, Real-Time and FPGA packages from http://www.ni.com/gate/gb/GB_EVALTLKTEMBDES/US and installed in the given order finishing with the recommended NI RIO driver package. I have deactivated all other Networks. Have no Firewalls active. Also have allowed all NI software to pass the Windows Firewall. Have no other virus or firewall software installed. I have the local network as first priority. Disconnected all other wireless and mobile networks (deactivation was not possible if that makes a differerence?).
Do I need to connect the cRIO differently, so that the local network is on the internet? I have only one network cable port on the computer. Have I installed wrong drivers or do I need extra drivers from another download page, since the latest version is not showing in the Real-Time software wizard?
Kind regards,
Gloria

Hi Gloria,
The error you see when choosing NI CompactRIO 13.1 in the wizard, is because that software version is not installed on this computer and since it not there you cannot resinstall that version on the cRIO. So this error is expected and you can ignore that for now.
More intresting is the message i you choose the NI CompactRIO 14.0.1 software set, this version is installed on your computer.
This is the version you should install on your cRIO. What message does it show if choosing that version?

Hi Klas,
When I click where the warning symbol is it looks like this:
i.e I cannot proceed with next. I do not understand why it says that I should upgrade the target's firmware. Thats what I'm doing inside the wizard I thought. When I go to the Systems settings as it suggests and click on update firmware a window occurs and wants me to open a Firmware Image File (.cfg) in the folder C:/ProgramFilesx86/National Instruments/Shared/Firmware/cRIO/76D6/cRIO-9068_2.1.0f0.cfg. Or I could browse somewhere else but I do not want to change anything without knowing so I canceled this operation.

Hi Gloria,
Here is a step by step guide how to update firmware on the cRIO-9068:
http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/3926EDBC4EA5B2B086257D2A007D586E?OpenDocument
Follow that guide and after that install the software.

Thank you! Now it worked to install the 2014 version on the cRIO and looks like below now, still the network settings are blank. I suppose that I cannot continue with the on-line cRIO guide before this is solved... But now we are certain that it is not caused by different softwares.
Kind regards,
Gloria

Which Ethernet port are you connected to on the 9068, port 1 or 2?
Best regards,
Klas

I am connected to Port 1. When I test Port 2 it switches the IP adress under System settings:
Port 1:
IP Adress 169.254.149.47 (Ethernet)
0.0.0.0 (Ethernet)
Port 2:
IP Adress 0.0.0.0 (Ethernet)
169.254.18.189 (Ethernet)
The DNS name NI-cRIO-9068.local disappears when I switch to Port 2.
