The statement of NI (Munich) is now (after the purchase) that the frame grabber PCIe 1477 should not work under Labview Realtime.
The question to NI (Munich) whether the frame grabber PCIe 1473r works under Labview Realtime has not been answered until today.
The question remains.
Should the frame grabbers work under LabVIEW Realtime according to the specification?

Hello Jim,
thanks for your post. Please be advised that LabVIEW Real-Time module is not an obsolete product and that NI will continue to develop and support it in the future. LabVIEW Real-Time supports Real Time targets with Pharlap, VxWorks and RT-Linux Operating systems. The Pharlap OS is supported by NI with some restrictions on NI-Hardware drivers.
With respect to the Frame grabbers you mention in your post, I would like to point out that the two devices have significant differences. For example, the PCIe-1477 is using a Kintex-7 325T FPGA which brings - depending on your application - up to factor 8 more space than the PCI-1473R with the Virtex-5 LX110. They also differ in the availability of Digital I/Os (for Triggering and Serial Communication) and in the Camera-Link Specification. PCIe-1477 for example offers 80-bit Extended-Full High-Throughput translating to more than 800MB/s. Throughput requirements are an important factor in selecting the right hardware for your application.
Speaking about Requirements can you elaborate on your application?
What are the requirements that lead to the decision to use a Real Time System?
Any FPGA code you might already have needs to be recompiled in order to run on another target.
If you already have FPGA code, we recommend simulating the new FPGA target in your LabVIEW project and recompile the FPGA code to see if it fits on the target.

thank you for your answer.
According to NI, Labview Realtime (Pharlab) is no longer being developed.
The document suggests that the development was stoped around 2014.

Maybe Labview Realtime Linux for Dektop hardware will come sometime. But that is written in the stars. There should be a PXI controller for Labview Realtime Linux now.
My question remains unanswered:
Do the Framegabber NI PCIe-1473R, NI PCIe-1473R-LX110 or NI PCIe-1477 work under LabVIEW Realtime (Pharlab)?

as mentioned the cards are mainly different. Knowing your application and requirements is necessary for choosing the right one. I recommend to get in contact with our sales department for further recommendations.
It seems like the supported OS is the one mandatory requirement for your application. Please check the device specification for information on this. I linked the according documents below and made screenshots of the relevant passages.

And according to my NI representative, Labview Realtime (Pharlab) is a discontinued product.
