I'm struggling to synchronize a 5433 function generator (sending a burst signal) with the high-speed 1.6 GHz ADC. At the moment, I'm getting 10 ns jitter (I think it has to do with the 200 MHz loop detecting the trigger inside the FPGA code). There are probably various ways for improving the situation but I'm confused what to do in this particular case. Can I use the NI-Tclk ? Should I use a cable connecting both components or can I use some PXI magic ?
Ideally the FPGA would also be able to average across multiple shots (it isn't working because of the jitter at the moment). Is there an application note for this ?
