Removing a cRIO module that was read by FPGA

If i remove a I/O module from a cRIO chassis, do i necessarily need to recompile the FPGA removing all references to that module, or it will be able to run anyway as it is? (I/O nodes of that module would obviously generate invalid values, but it doesn't matter for me)

The FPGA code will run fine with the module unplugged.  As you said you just can't expect any real data from the I/O node.
