Reset or change development password

A previous client developer installed a password on development.  They do not it and the programmer is unavailable so I need to reset or disable it to make change changes to the application.

Is this a VI that is password protected?  Password protected VIs allow us to protect copyrighted code.  In future development, I recommend backing up files prior to password protecting them or using a password management system.

I am waiting for the license and support information.  All i know is the application is version 8.0 and my client view runtime information but cannot open the development or database to add anything.   This is what i am trying to reset.
