Hi, I'm trying to install RT (9) to an compact PCI system from EKF with a SATA drive. I've tried all options in the BIOS (IDE, AHCI, RAID) but when I run the compatibility test on the USB utility disk I still get the error: "Starting up File System... failed. Error! Cannot initialize the hard drive...".
In the BIOS the hard drive seems to be located on SATA Port 4 while Ports 1..3 are not connected. Unfortunately I cannot try the HD on any of the other ports as these are wired to the rear-io connector P2 on the cPCI backplane and not the mezzanine card on the CPU.
Is the problem that that the HD has to be on the first SATA port or am I missing something else?
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi AnthonV,
I apologize, but I am not too familiar with the compact PCI systems from EKF, however, I was not able to find anything that discussed SATA port assignment. Also, I just wanted to confirm that LabVIEW Real-Time 8.5 and above do support SATA, but only in AHCI mode.
Is the SATA drive formatted as FAT32? Does the hard drive meet the requirements set in the Hard Drive section of this Developer Zone article?
