Save serial data

Hi,

Matlab send serial data to cRIO 9022 and then labview saved this data. 

I want to outputted to zero when the data is not coming in, and save the data only when the data comes in. 

I tried to use case structure, but failed. 

How can I make it?

What have you tried (share your code)?  What is the format of the serial data?  How long before you state the no data is coming in?
