We use the PXI-7833R FPGA card. When we switch out a card, we would use RioDeviceSetup.exe to set the device to reference single ended and use 783XR_Calibration.exe to do a self calibration. I have the following questions:
1. Is that the correct way to go about it? I don't understand why are they not included in MAX.
2. For the Calibration utility, when a do a soft calibrate, what am I actually doing? What are the difference between save to flash and calibrate only? Where can I read more about this?
3. Does that setup procedure apply to all NI FPGA devices, including compact RIO, R-series, etc.? Or does is only apply to the R-series only?

1. It's the correct way, but you should also send it for external calibration after sometime as well.
2. R-series will calibrate itself with internal circuit and keep offset and multiplier in the flash in its memory. If you select save to flash, these calibration data will be written to flash and load next time you power up R-series.
3. R-series only.

If I do save to flash for self calibration, would I overwritten the saved calibration factor obtained in an external calibration?
