Softmotion and SolidWorks Motor Velocity

Hello,

I'm using NI SoftMotion with Solidworks and have completed the sorting machine example. I have successfully ran both the Solidworks simulation using the Labview VI and actual hardware running through our cRIO board. My issue is with the velocity settings on the motion function blocks. For the actual hardware we are able to define the steps/mm in the axis configuration settings and set the appropriate velocities in the function blocks and the system runs smoothly. When I return the VI to the Solidworks simulation, the same velocity settings do not work on the solid model. Is there anyway to configure the axis of the Solidworks motors so both systems can use the exact same VI without changing the velocity on the motion blocks each time?

Hi Lisa,

I'm not sure why you are seeing this - but I will try to get a system setup to see if I can reproduce your issue. I haven't used SolidWorks much but I will let you know what I find. I'm not sure how the Solidworks modeling works or what the limitations might be.
