Temperature error using the N.I. 9213 thermocouple module with type T thermocouple

Hi all,

Am new to using N.I. CompactRIO.  We are using the N.I. 9213 Thermocouple module, and are getting an error in temperature readings of about 6 degrees Celsius.  These are brand new modules, and we have 3 complete CompactRIO setups, all getting the same +6 degree error in temperature.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Hi mlangiano!

Since you're getting a temperature reading of some kind, I'm going to start with the assumption that you have your grounding and wiring set up correctly.

In order to get a clearer idea of your code setup, would you be willing to post a screen shot of your code?

Also, do you get the same behavior using an example program? (you can search for "9213" in the example finder)

It looks like the original poster never returned, but I'm having the same problem.  My thermocouple reading is about 10 degrees F high.  I tried the 9213 example problem and got the same result.  I changed the module configuration to my thermocouple type.  I'm using an ungrounded type T thermocouple with fiberglass insulation and stainless steel overbraid.

Any ideas??

Thanks,

Gintree:

If you throw me a little more info, I'll see what I can dig up.

How is the thermocouple wired up to the module? Do you get the same result on every channel?

What version of NI-RIO are you running?

Based on your initial post, it sounds like you've got it set up correctly, but I'd like to cross the 'i's and dot the 't's.

Thanks!
