Terminal connection to cRIO target

deepforge,

Historically, most of NI's RT customers are new to embedded development - hence the lack of familiarity in front-line support with traditional embedded tools. Over the last few years we have seen more and more experienced embedded developers adopt our platform, which we are very excited about and have also propelled us to provide more tools and hooks that these users are familiar with.

I wanted to point out for future readers of this thread that they can use the Distributed System Manager (DSM) tool to potentially debug similar issues. It is not a terminal connection, but it provides status info such as CPU load, memory use, and a view into the VIs that are loaded. You can also start or stop VIs from this tool. You can launch the DSM directly from the file system (on LV 2009 on WinXP it's located at C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\System Manager\9.0). Or you can launch it from the LV project by right-clicking on the RT target>>Utilities>>System Manager. Note that you have to enable VI Server on the target for this to work.
