Testing IC's in circuit

I would like to test standard jelly bean logic chips in-circuit.  7400 stuff, and other off the shelf components with data sheets available. What kind of NI hardware should I get to do this.  I will be using clips and would like to test with power on, and then drive patterns into the inputs and watch the outputs for the correct results. Using the back driving technique that is used in some more advanced In-circuit testers.  What kind of setup would do this.  Could someone point me in the right direction to get started on this.  I need 64 channels to start and maybe double that after awhile.  What NI PXI boards would I need to do this?  I am testing somewhat simple embedded controllers for the Amusement business. (Coin-op redemption)
Thank you very much
Russ

Hi uriahsky,

If you would like, I can have a technical representative get in touch with you to discuss an appropriate hardware solution. Please post if you are interested.

Yes, Could you please pass my email to someone who could help with this.  I actually tried phone calls to NI but ended up playing phone tag for a few weeks and then gave up. So maybe the email way might work better.

Thank you very much
