Update/Build/Deploy NI Linux RT OS on cRIO-9038

I would like to know if it is possible to build and deploy custom images of the Linux based RT OS on the cRIO. Specifically, I have leveraged the linux system to include a SQL server (tutorial found here) on the cRIO-9038. Once the application is complete I will need to do the same thing for many more cRIO-9038s. I am looking to make an image of the OS after I have finalized all the changes so that it is easy to deploy in the future.

In development so far I have noticed that upgrading the firmware to 7.1.0f0 also updated the operating system. Is it possible to create an image of the firmware that can be flashed to other cRIOs?

Replicating and Deploying NI Real-Time System Images

"you can deploy the 2015 image and everything (including Linux version)"

I have looked at the 2016 RAD utility and was unable to copy over the OS. It looked like the image was duplicated, but the OS was unchanged.
