Use FPGA for baseband processing

I have PXI 5600 and PXI 5620 as RFSA and PXI 5610 and PXI 5142 as RFSG on PXI 1045 chasis along with an embedded P-4 processor which will perform the operations like channel coding and modulation.I plan to design a communication system and do some research on error coding . I want to  do this baseband processing on FPGA..Please suggest me a suitable NI module that will help me in my work.

Hi sabe,

Check out the NI Baseband Resources for Modular Instruments. This document walks through a variety of solutions including FPGA processing using the PCI-5640R or PXI-7854R. Given that you're already using PXI, the 7854R may be the better choice.

I have xilinx FPGA modules available .. Can I interface them to PXI and save my cost of buying the whole module.

you would have to do that interfacing yourself if they are not NI products.

the link tim gave you is really out of date and I don't recommend its hardware recommendations. It hasn't been updated in four years.

if you really want a powerful RF and FPGA processing platform, you should look into FlexRIO and peer to peer streaming. This is a great article on it https://www.ni.com/en/support/documentation/supplemental/10/an-introduction-to-peer-to-peer-streamin...
