Hi all,
I have a rather simple question but with a more complex background:
Is it possible to use LV2009 to write software for a cFP-2020 and also deploy
it from the project viewer? I know already that the "newest" version of the
RT-Module supporting this target is 8.5.1 so I installed this version (LV+RT-Module)
in parallel to LV2009 (we decided to upgrade all our lab computers to this version
recently).
I thought it would be possible to use LV2009 for programming and only compile
(build&deploy) it using the "older" version of the RT-Module.
But this seems to be impossible. Or did I oversee something?
The reason I do not want to go back using the old version of LV is the following:
We have two very similar systems here, one running on the cFP-2020 and one
newer system on a cRIO target. Both systems share the same codebase, only
two small parts of the software are different: The ones accesing the hardware.
For this reason we want to keep a "common" codebase, preferably in LV2009
so we can make use of all new features especiallay in the FPGA part of the cRIO
version. However it seems impossible to do so if we have to use an old LV version
for the cFP-2020 system. Any suggestions?

Olaf,
the cFP-2020 is quite old and unfortunately there is no way to compile code for it with LabVIEW 2009. You could try to use the "Save for previous version" feature in LabVIEW to save your cFP-project files back to version 8.5. Then you should be able to open, compile and download it to the cFP-2020 in LV 8.5.1
However saving for a previous version might not be always possible and depending on your requirements, you also may want to consider a hardware upgrade of your cFP-2020 to a cFP-2220. For hardware upgrades NI provides special discounts, so it might be worth for you to check with your local NI branch if this is an option for you.

I guess in this case it would be better to upgrade the old system to cRIO entirely. Is there a market for used cFP components (other than ebay)?
Best regards,

I agree, that compared to FieldPoint the cRIO platform provides superior performance and flexibility, so for new projects cRIO is typically the first choice.
I'm not aware of a market place for used cFP components other than ebay et al.
