Windows 10 on TPC-2230

Hello,

We are using a TPC-2230 in our application, but we have been requested to use Windows 10 instead of Windows 7.  TPC-2230 uses Windows 7 Embedded by default, but is it possible to install a version of Windows 10?

Hello jdenn,

To my knowledge there is not a supported way to upgrade the TPC-2230 to Windows 10. It's likely possible, but it's not something we have tested or can guarantee will work with no issues at this time. Additionally our Touch Panel Module and other TPC related software has not been tested on a Windows 10 deployment system. Again, you might try it and get it to work without any issues but I wouldn't recommend it.

An alternative might be computer with a Touch Panel Monitor. Much of our software is fully supported on Windows 10 as documented in the following white paper.

Thanks for the reply and sorry for the late response.  We have a TPC-2230 and would like to experiment with loading a version of Windows 10 onto the unit and evaluate the performance.  The unit we have we purchased a couple years ago and have misplaced the USB drive that was provided.  I can't seem to find any of the drivers on the NI website: http://sine.ni.com/psp/app/doc/p/id/psp-1245/lang/en

The datasheet/specification states that the drivers should be available on a USB.  Is there any way we could get a copy of the drivers we would need after installing the new OS?

Hello jdenn,

Thanks for following up! Just to quickly reiterate what Charlie (GatorBait) mentioned, we will not have much to add as it relates to using Windows 10 on the TPC device as it isn't a supported configuration and our R&D team suggests against doing it. We will not be able to support it and won't be able to add value or insight into any of the issues you run into.

Moreover, we will need you to create a formal service request so that we can officially escalate up to R&D to inquire about this driver set and see if it is still included or available. We don't have it public facing, but might be able to get you another USB if we go through the right channels.
