cRIO-9048 network time protocol and Dilemma

We have a cRIO 9048, and on it we have labview real time 18.5 installed. We want to use NTP to set the time on the cRIO, like we did with our 9038 model. However it looks as if though something behind the scenes is constantly changing the clock back, which I think has sometihng to do with the "TSN enabled" stuff.

the cRIO-9048 has some newfangled feature which doesn't let us do this. According to this KB

https://knowledge.ni.com/KnowledgeArticleDetails?id=kA03q000000YQbGCAW&l=en-US

"You can only sever the link between network time and Linux OS time and set the Linux OS time arbitrarily by using NI-Sync 20.1."

Well I can't install NI-Sync 20.1 because every thing else is running version 2018, and it didn't exist till 19.0

Where is the cRIO getting the "network time" from? We have our own NTP server, and that's where we want to get it from
