cRIO 9049 IP Issue

Dear NI Community,

When viewing the network settings tab in MAX for our cRIO 9049 the software gets stuck searching for the network adapters. The cRIO's primary ethernet port (port 0) has been setup with a static IP address of 192.168.0.8, where the cRIO is connected to an unmanaged network switch. I am able to ping the device and access it from a LV project without any issues. I suspect that it is a IP setting problem as when I put the cRIO in safe mode (network settings reset) and I put my PC on the 169.254.x.x subnet, I am able to view the network settings tab and change the network adapter settings. However, when I do this and change it to a static IP of 192.168.0.8 & subnet of 255.255.255.0 and then take the cRIO out of safe mode and into run mode the problem persists. Any ideas on how to fix it?

The cRIO has been setup with LV RT 20 (for compatibility with SoftMotion), along with Ind. Comms. for EtherCAT 20.0 (where the second Ethernet port (port 1) has been setup for EtherCAT comms). On MAX I am using V20.0 running on a Windows 11 PC.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi there,

Right click on the device in remote systems and select format. In MAX, go to tools >> Reset configuration data. This removes all of your devices and settings from MAX and resets the database file.

After the reboot, search for the device in remote systems. If this doesn’t work, you may need to reinstall the cRIO driver (make sure you are using cRIO 20.0). NI recommends you use the same version of software- installed in the following order: LabVIEW, Real-time, FPGA, cRIO, Ether Cat.

Hope this is helpful!
