cRIO system with WAP-3711

Hello All;

I have a cRIO systemconnected to NI WAP-3711, and I want to transmit and receive data with a host station through the NI WAP-3711. How many NI WAP-3711 do I need to establish this? How is the configuration going to be?

I really appreciate your assistance.

Best Regards.

Hello Tarek,

The answer depends on your host station.

  • If your host PC has an integrated wireless Ethernet port, then you need only one WAP-3711 to connect the cRIO to the host through WLAN.
  • If your host station has no WLAN ports, then you need to connect a second WAP-37x1 to it.

In the most common case, WAP-3711 works as a wireless access point that creats connection between your equipment and any WLANs (Wireless Local Area Network); seemingly, that is exactly what you need.

You can also use your WAP-3711 device as a network bridge (connecting two Access Points) or a DHCP server (supporting upto 30 clients).

You have numerous options to configure your network, so I attached a Quick Installation Guide that can help you with that.

If you have any unanswered questions left, feel free to ask!

Best regards,

Matyas
