is cRIO 9002 compatible with LV 8.6?

Hello

I've been working on my cRIO on LV 8 platform. However, I have changed the computer and I have installed LV 8.6. Now, in the project tree and MAX I can only see the icon of the controller, but the FPGA target is missing. Is this a mismatch of drivers? The current NI-RIO driver version is 3.3.1 and the previous I think was 2.

Hi Mugur,

I have been looking into your issue and there is no apparent reason why your cRIO is not working with LabView (LV) 8.6. Which version of the NI-RIO driver do you have installed at present? As long as you have version 3.0 or later, there should be no problem using LV 8.6. Generally however, I would always recommend using the latest version of the NI-RIO driver (in this case 3.2.1 which can be downloaded here.) I can also confirm that your cRIO 9002 is compatible with LV 8.6 and NI-RIO 3.2.1 as is described here.

Another point I would like to clarify is that you installed your software and hardware on your new computer in the following order:

  1. Environment (e.g... LV 8.6)
  2. Modules (e.g... LV RT and LV FPGA)
  3. Toolkits
  4. Drivers (e.g... NI RIO 3.2.1)
  5. Hardware (e.g... cRIO 9002)

If you did not install these components in this order I would recommend that you reinstall them as this can cause problems. This involves ensuring that a customised install is carried out and that the Device Drivers and NI-RIO are deselected and then installed later in the correct order.

I hope this solves your problem but if it doesn't please let me know and I shall assist you further.

Best Regards,

Christian Hartshorne
