I have a cRIO-9034 that is connected to NI MAX via the USB device port.
I decided to do a clean install so I forced the cRIO into Safe mode (by holding the reset > 5sec).
I did a disk format follow by reboot from command line on the cRIO directly. Upon reboot I can see usb0. However, depends on which computer I have it connected to, it will either change the usb0 ip address on its own to 169.254.113.46/16 (bad) or stays the same at 17.22.11.2/29 (good). When it changes to the 169.254.113.46 ip, I will have to manually change the ip address back to 172.22.11.2/29 for NI MAX to be able to recognize (did this in linux command).
Then I go into NI MAX and add software under Remote systems. If I choose NI Linux RT system Image 21.5 or 21.3, the usb0 interface will be completely gone after installation and reboot. GONE - when I enter "ip addr" in command line, there isn't a usb0 at all. It is asf-if that port is not there at all. what did I do wrong?

Add system image 21.8 to the list of non-working images...
