Can I use SCXI 1124 with NI 6110 card?

I am using 6110 card and SCXI 1124 to analog input. The chassis I am using is 1000DC.I am trying to detect the module on MAX.But it shows and error "make sure that your DAQ device is not being used by other application".
So how to solve this problem?

Hi Haider,

Are you using Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy) or NI-DAQmx for this application? I think that you need to reset your devices to eliminate the error.

If you are just using NI-DAQmx, go to MAX and right click on the DAQ board and select "reset device." Do the same for the SCXI Chassis.

If you have been using Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy), then you may need to reset the Traditional NI-DAQ driver by right clicking on "Traditional NI-DAQ (Legacy) Devices" and selecting "Reset driver for Traditional NI-DAQ." I hope that you find this information helpful.

I have done "Reset device " on DAQmx. Still It is not detecting the modules from Chassis (1000DC).When I tried to reset the Chassis after reseting the device it signals an error"-88705 The Chassis reset has failed. The device may have not installed and so much/........."

Actually I am using

LabVIEW 7 EXPRESS

NI DAQmx 7.4

NI 6110 Card.

SCXI 1000DC +SCB 68 cable+module 1121,1124+terminal block+1320+1327

So what should I do?

Hi Haider,

There are a couple more things I would like you to do. One reason that you might be getting the error is that you have used the device with Traditional NI-DAQ and are now trying to use it with DAQmx. You have to reset the device with the Traditional DAQ Device Reset in order to use the device with DAQmx after using it with Traditional DAQ. Also, I noticed that you are using NI-DAQmx version 7.4. DAQmx 8.1 is latest release of the driver. If you still get the error after resetting the Traditional DAQ driver, I would like you to upgrade. Here is the link to the driver download page: NI-DAQmx 8.1.

dear sir

I have tried to download the DAQmx 8.1 four times through the link that you provided but after 7 or 8 hrs it only downloads to 509MB or less and refuse to unzip.

Haider,

You could also try to download the driver from our ftp site.  Try using an ftp client to attach to the ftp server.  Some ftp clients allow pausing and restarting a download and may help you get the driver intact.  You can download the driver at ftp://ftp.ni.com/support/daq/pc/ni-daq/daqmx/8.1/NIDAQ810.zip
