Can I use hardware TEDS memory, e.g. EEPROM memory (not Virtual TEDS) in SC 2350?

Hi,

Can I use hardware TEDS memory, e.g. EEPROM memory (not Virtual TEDS) in SC 2350? I have read the manual about SC 2350, but there are information
only about Virtual TEDS, and I want use sensor with internal TEDS.
I found in manual table B-8 (Socket J35). Ther are some signals like AI TEDS CHDATA (x), but there is no information what can I put in this socket.

Is this possible to use TEDS memory with SC 2350?

Thanks.

I have read scc_quick_start_guide.pdf and now I know that i can use sensors with teds. Now I wonder where the signal e.g. DATA+
0/8 is connected to DAQ, which digital input is used.

Next question is about pins 15 and 16 in sockets J1-J8 and J17-J18 in SC-2350. There is 1-wire. What is purpose of this signals? I didn't find any module which is using this signals.

Thanks.

Hi depablo,

I'd like to direct you to one of our online KnowledgeBase articles that could be of interest to you.
KnowledgeBase 3DQDJH7U: Which DIO lines are Reserved for Communication on a TEDS SC-2350 Carrier?

In regards to the 1-Wire pins, this is described in the glossary of the User Manual, found here and is used for TEDS communication. Also, please take a look at the following article.
Configuring Class II TEDS Tasks using the SC-2350 Carrier

I hope these articles and references assist you.

Thanks for this information.

It means that 1-wire transmission is realized by using four (0, 1, 2, 4) DIO lines? I am trying to understand how it works.

For example. If I have 6221 DAQ (without SCC 2350) I will be able to connect my 1-wire eeprom (or another device) to DIO lines and it will be works?

I am new so I have a lot questions. I've tried to find something about 1-wire communication on this site, but I still don't know.

Thanks.

Hi Depablo,

If you follow the advise and steps in the above links you should be able to get your TEDS device to interface with MAX and LabVIEW. I can't comment exactly on how the 1-wire interface and DIO lines correlate but the DIO lines are reserved when using TEDS.
