PCI-6013 DAQmx device but can't control scxi-1000?

We usually use a PCI-6024E series with the SCXI-1000 chassis connected.

I have recently installed NI Daqmx 7.1 so our PCI-6013 is a DAQmx device and planned on using it when 16 bit applications are needed. The PCI-6013 is now a DAQmx device and the test panel seems to be working.

Problem is when I go into the SCXI-1000 properties I can only choose the 6024E for the Chassis Communicator, the 6013 isn't an option. I assume the 6013 can be used to control the SCXI. I'm new to the hardware side of NI so sorry if this is an obvious question.

Hi Peter,

The 6013 is a B Series Device, and is not supported for use with SCXI.  The reason is that these devices are typically meant for OEM solutions or for taking basic measurements.

If you want a similarly priced device that also supports using SCXI, try taking a look at some of our M Series Devices.  Particularly the NI 6221.
