SC-68 and 6289 self calibrate temperature

I'm trying to calibrate my SCC-68 & NI6289 internal temperature using the self-calibration tab in MAC.  I tried without any AC wires hooked up, but the temp still says 47'C. How do I change this so it reads something reasonable, like 23'C, then into F'. When I am currently use the MAC, which does indicate I did successfully calibrate because on the self-calibrate tab, it says just calibrated today, but still says 47'C.  Exnternal calibration says 49'C.  I also tried with and without the SW1 switch on, but still calibration is off. PLease advise.

Hello vkardos,

The temperature you are seeing is not an unexpected value and is within the range of normal operation for your device. If you look at the the NI 628X Specifications, the operating range listed is 0-55C. In fact, I have a similar M-Series DAQ board in my computer right now. I just performed a self-calibration myself and the listed temperature is also 47C. This temperature seems high, but it is important to keep in mind that this is the temperature measured on the device itself. That means it is the temperature on the circuitry inside the computer or PXI chassis. It is not unreasonable to expect this temperature to be at or above 50C. For more information about the temperature during calibration you can reference the following documents:

I hope this information is helpful. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to help.
