Signal Conditioning Enclosure/Modules

I am looking at using a PCIe-6259 board to take advantage of it's four analog outputs.  I will need to using 5B modules to convert the outputs to current outputs with range 0-20mA.  Additionally I will need to isolate at least four analog inputs.  I would like to use one of National Instrument's enclosures, but have not been able to figure out a good solution.  The SC-2311 looks like it has a lot of potential, but the documentation appears to indicate that it can not be used with 5B analog output modules.  Is there anything else that might be workable?  I am really trying to stay with an off the shelf solution with a nice enclosure.  Thanks in advance.

Hello Bill,

You are correct in your assumption that the SC-2311 Shielded Carrier for 5B and SSR Modules only supports the use of analog input 5B modules, and will not work with analog output modules.  The only National Instruments solution for using 5B analog output modules with an E or M Series Multifunction DAQ device is to use a 5B 16-Channel Backplane with a SC-2050 Cable Adapter.  This solution is discussed in the following Knowledgebase:

I know this is probably not your ideal solution compared to the nice shielded enclosure of the SC-2311.  You might also want to look at Analog Devices website to see if they have any enclosures that would better fit your needs.  I hope this information helps.
