Value and Type of Capacitor required?

Hi all

I have a Daq card whose input voltage range is +/- 10 Volts. I want to measure a signal
which consists a Dc offset of 8 Volts and on this DC offset a sine wave of +10 V pk-pk
is riding having the frequency of 125 Hz. My question is that i want to eliminate the DC offset
and only want to measure the sinusoidal wave. For this reason, i have decided to use the capacitor
but can anyone tell me that what type and value of capacitor should i use in series? Should i use polar or non polar?
and what value? such that impedance is very low.

Any help will be greatly appreciated

Another important value is the input impedance of your analog input. and the max error...   GOhm or 10kOhm makes a difference 😉

Draw the schematic and you can calculate the range you need. ( Nowadays you simulate these with ??SPice to get nice charts)

Short:  1µ poly is a good starting point 😉
