What is the best USB extender to use for an SCXI-1600?

I have an SCXI-1600 in a SCXI-1001chasis.  I'm using three 1102's and LabView 8.  I want to extend the USB connection about 100 feet, has anyone tried this before?
If so, what brand USB extender are you using?

Hello Frank Rizzo,

The SCXI-1600 has been tested and shown to work from up to 150 ft away with the Vigor VAD-1120 USB Extender.  I know in your previous post, you mentioned that you were using a Gefen USB 2.0 Extender and that your program was hanging at the DAQmx Start Task VI, which is a sign that this USB extender is not compatible with the SCXI-1600.  Does anyone else have any suggestions or other successes/failures using USB extenders with the SCXI-1600?

Hey Travis, what set the two different brands apart?  Im curious about why one brand is compatible while the other is not, they units have to be pretty similiar?

Thanks!

I just set up a very similar system and purchased a USB extender from B&B electronics.  I wish I had read this posting first!  My extender doesn't work either.  It is http://bb-elec.com/bb-elec/literature/U2EC50M_3105ds.pdf

A model U2EC50M

Has there been any further testing with other extenders?  I figured that the SCXI-1600 would need a USB 2.0 connection, but the Vigor unit is USB 1.1.

Hi

Unfortunately we have not tested which other cables might do the job. Although it is not supported, the VIGOR 1120, has been tested for up to 200 ft; this other cable: USB 2.0 Hi-Speed Cable VE280306 has not been tested with National Insturmens USB boards but it seems it can handle USB 2.0 and 1.1.

I hope it helps
