can i connect an analog input (0_10V) to my scxi -1314 ?

Hi,
I want to connect an analog input to my SCXi 1000 chassis.
since i have already the scxi 1520 and the scxi 1314 block to measure strains, and I've  got a lot of free chanels, I want to know if it is possible to coonect the analog input to the scxi 1314 block ? or  do  i need another conditioning module into my scxi 1000 box?

Thanks in advance.

No problem, on a 1520 board you can set the gain on a per channel basis. Thus, if you want to connect a 0-10V signal on a 1520 board +1314 connector block, all you have to do it set that channel as a standard voltage input, and set the gain to 1.

thank u Fabrice for your quick reply.
how can i set the gain to 1?
where should i connect the analog input? did u mean  to the block SCXI 1314 using  S+ and S- differential inputs?.

thanks

The way to set the gain depends on the software you're using. In most NI softwares, you simply have to configure the signal range (0-10V) rather than setting the gain explicitly.

As for signal connection, you're right, all you need is connect your signal to S+ and S-. In some cases you might also need to reference your negative wire to the ground through a resistor to avoid problems related to floating inputs.
